The first thing we should say about this Ecotric ebike is that it comes 90% assembled, the rest you will need to do yourself or have someone do it for you. There’s not much to do, it’s just a matter of fitting the pedals, seat, front fender and front tire, and attaching the control module to the handlebars. All in all you can have it up and running in around 30-40 minutes.
Once you have it fully assembled, probably the first thing you will notice is how stylishly cool, yet rugged this fat tire bike looks. Built around a folding aluminum alloy frame, this bike is lightweight while being incredibly strong and designed for riders up to 6 ft tall and weighing up to 240lbs. The frame can also be folded down via a quick release pin making it super easy to carry and store.
The Ecotric 20″ bike is driven by a powerful 500W brushless geared motor which is powered by a 36V 12Ah lithium battery in a sealed pack, and which is removable and can be charged either off or on the bike. The battery can be fully charged in 6-8 hours and there are red and green charge indicator lights on the battery, transformer, and handlebars.
Once fully charged the battery holds enough power to for the bike to travel up to 21 miles on a flat, paved road at speed of up to 20 mph. This bike does have some limited climbing ability as long as the incline isn’t too steep or to long, although paved mountain roads are no problem.
This Ecotric electric bike is also fitted with Shimano 7-Speed external gears for a smoother and more comfortable ride, however it does not have any suspension or shock absorbers so you will feel the bumps on rougher terrain. Both wheels are fitted with Tektro Novela Mechanical Disc 160mm Rotor brakes which are more than adequate for a bike of this size and speed.
Another major plus with this fat tire electric bike is that it can be ridden on virtually any terrain in both wet and dry weather conditions making it perfect for city streets, days at the beach and snowy mountain trails, as both the battery itself, and the inbuilt charging port are sealed against the elements.
